Dr. Ruben Avendaño has been invited to participate in the XXV Pucón Seminar Current status of fish pathogens, organized by Veterquimica

The Principal Investigator of the line “Animal Health in Freshwater Life Stages of Salmonids” and Academic from the Universidad Andrés Bello (UNAB), Dr. Ruben Avendaño-Herrera, will participate in the XXV Pucón Seminar: Current status of fish pathogens, organized by Veterquimica. The event, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2023, will take place this Thursday, April 27th at the Pucón Green Park Hotel and aims to delve into the latest advances related to the control and prevention of bacterial and viral diseases in the aquaculture industry.

During the event, Dr. Avendaño will present “Current state of knowledge and characteristics of bacterial fish pathogens in salmon farming,” a presentation in which he will discuss the current state of knowledge in this area, as well as the characteristics of bacterial fish pathogens in salmon farming with an emphasis on pathogens such as infectious pancreatic necrosis virus (IPN) and Piscine orthoreovirus (PRV). Additionally, environmental factors that must be considered in freshwater production will be addressed.
