“Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention of Fish Diseases in Latin American Aquaculture” is the title of the upcoming international seminar organized by the Interdisciplinary Center for Aquaculture Research (Incar) between October 4th -11th. This initiative, led by Dr. Ruben Avendaño Herrera, principal investigator of the “Animal Health in Freshwater Life Stages of Salmonids” research line at INCAR and an academic at Universidad Andrés Bello (UNAB), will bring together 9 specialists from 7 countries in two virtual sessions. A large participation of Spanish-speaking countries, particularly aquaculturists, students, and regulatory entities, is expected.
The seminar provides an ideal platform to gain insights into the current and real situation of the sanitary conditions in fish farming in the Americas. It also offers an opportunity to become acquainted with the key stakeholders involved in the study of fish health in the region and to learn about their experiences with prevention and control measures.
