Aquaculture High School Network
Since 2013, INCAR has been collaborating with Chilean aquaculture high schools, generating different initiatives to promote scientific education and sustainable aquaculture. Currently, a network of aquaculture high schools has been established in the regions three regions along the south of Chile: Biobío, Los Lagos, Aysén, and Magallanes.
Up to the date, INCAR has (i) contributed to the design of modules for the diffusion of sustainable aquaculture to high schools and schools along the coast, (ii) conducted training workshops for teachers from aquaculture schools, as well as scientific sessions and workshops for students from the high schools in this network.
Objective
The objective of INCAR is to promote scientific education and sustainable aquaculture support in Aquaculture High Schools.
Members
Currently, the network includes the following institutions: Pencopolitano High School in Penco, Filidor Gaete High School in Llico, Trapaqueante High School in Tirúa, Insular High School in Achao, Captain Williams Institute of the Sea in Chonchi, Arturo Prat High School in Puerto Cisnes, and Maria Behety de Menéndez Polyvalent High School in Punta Arenas.
