Considering that my PhD was funded by a BID-CONICYT program, I feel it is my duty to give back in some way for the opportunity the agency gave me to grow professionally. When they told me they had considered me to lead this group, composed of highly scientific and personally outstanding colleagues and friends from other veterinary fields, I was deeply moved. It is undoubtedly a great honor and responsibility, which I hope to fulfill.
