From May 8 th<\/sup> to 10th<\/sup>, the third edition of the International Sea Film Festival will take place in the city of Concepci\u00f3n. This event, organized by the University of Concepci\u00f3n, the Ocean Institute, and the Millennium Institute of Oceanography, aims to connect science, art, and oceanic culture with the community.<\/p>\n The initiative will feature a diverse lineup of 17 documentaries from Belgium, France, the United States, Canada, Uruguay, Greece, Chile, Slovenia, Kenya, the United Kingdom, and Brazil, competing in two categories: ‘Best Feature Film’ and ‘Best Short Film.’ In this edition, the Interdisciplinary Center for Aquaculture Research (INCAR), along with COPAS Coastal, the Millennium Institute of Coastal Socioecology (SECOS), IMO Chile, and PROSUB, will participate in the Educational Program, scheduled for Thursday May 8th<\/sup>, and May 9 th<\/sup>, in Room 100 of the Corporaci\u00f3n Cultural Artistas del Acero.<\/p>\n This initiative will provide students from various educational institutions in the Greater Concepci\u00f3n area with the opportunity to enjoy national and international documentaries that will encourage viewers to engage deeply and be captivated by the oceans. During the sessions facilitated by INCAR as part of the Educational Program, the documentaries ‘Wild Horizons: The Coast of \u00d1uble’ and ‘Coastal Life in the \u00d1uble Region’ will be presented. These audiovisual stories were created by the Baguales Collective as part of the FIC project ‘Sustainable \u00d1uble Coast’ (BIP Code 40035832-0), showcasing the natural and cultural heritage of the \u00d1uble Coast.<\/p>\n Following the screenings, participants will have the chance to engage and reflect with the INCAR team, fostering a space for discussion and contemplation on the vital importance of biodiversity conservation, its vulnerability to current threats, the relevance of cultural identity along the coast, and its prospects.<\/p>\n
