The three students carried out their theses in the Stress Immunology and Aquatic Organisms Laboratory, under the supervision of Dr. Alex Romero, Associate Researcher at INCAR, based at Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh). The theses were funded by the FONDECYT Regular project 1231761in collaboration with the Biotechnology Lab of ICYTAL-UACh, and co-funded by INES G\u00e9nero (INGE 220001 \u2013 ANID, INGE 2024-08).<\/p>\n<p>On May 13th, Juan Antonio P\u00e9rez, earned a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Biochemistry, with highest distinction, after completing the thesis titled <em>\u201cEffect of Salinity on the Morphofunctional Integrity of Intestinal Epithelial Cells in Rainbow Trout and Its Relationship with Piscirickettsia salmonis Infection.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On May 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, Mat\u00edas Vega Neira earned a Master of Science in Biochemical Biotechnology degree, with the highest distinction, with the thesis titled <em>\u201cEvaluation of the Protective Effect of a Polyphenol-Enriched Phytogenic Extract on the Integrity of RTGutGC Intestinal Epithelial Cells of Rainbow Trout against Infection by Piscirickettsia salmonis.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Finally, on May 23rd, Diego C\u00e1rcamo Ag\u00fcero earned his Master of Science in Biotechnology, with grade the highes distinction with the thesis titled <em>\u201cIn Vitro Evaluation of a Brewery Spent Grain Extract with Potential Effect su tesis &#8220;Efecto de la salinidad sobre la integridad morfofuncional sobre c\u00e9lulas epiteliales intestinales de Trucha arco\u00edris y su relaci\u00f3n con la infecci\u00f3n de Piscirickettsia salmonis\u201d.\n\t\t\t\t<\/dd><\/dl><dl class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<dt class='gallery-icon portrait'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/centroincar.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Juan-Perez.jpg' title='Juan Perez'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"200\" protector de un extracto fitog\u00e9nico enriquecido en polifenoles sobre la integridad de c\u00e9lulas epiteliales intestinales RTGutGC de trucha arcoiris frente a la infecci\u00f3n con  Piscirickettsia salmonis &#8220;, para optar al grado de Mag\u00edster en Ciencias, menci\u00f3n Biotecnolog\u00eda Bioqu\u00edmica.\n\t\t\t\t<\/dd><\/dl><dl class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<dt de intestino de salm\u00f3nidos&#8221;, para optar al grado de Mag\u00edster en Ciencias, menci\u00f3n Biotecnolog\u00eda Bioqu\u00edmica.\n\t\t\t\t<\/dd><\/dl><br style=\"clear: both\" \/><dl class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<dt class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/centroincar.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Equipo-AQUAIST.png' title='Equipo AQUAIST'><img
