These include advanced scientific and technological solutions for the main challenges of Chilean aquaculture, such as vaccines, tools to reduce antimicrobial use, environmental models, and climate resilience strategies, with an emphasis on sustainable solutions, competitiveness, animal welfare, and effective transfer to the productive sector.<\/p>\n<p>In this new cycle, the Center is directed by Dr. Cristian Gallardo-Esc\u00e1rate, Professor at the Department of Oceanography of the University of Concepci\u00f3n (UdeC), and will feature eight research lines: <em>\u201cNew vaccines for fish\u201d<\/em> (Principal Investigator Dr. Valentina Valenzuela Mu\u00f1oz, UdeC); <em>\u201cFish diseases and antimicrobial resistance\u201d<\/em> (Principal Investigator Dr. Rub\u00e9n Avenda\u00f1o-Herrera, UNAB); <em>\u201cOmics solutions for aquaculture\u201d<\/em> (Principal Investigator Dr. Cristian Gallardo-Esc\u00e1rate, UdeC); <em>\u201cStress and animal welfare\u201d<\/em> (Principal Investigator Dr. Juan Antonio Vald\u00e9s Mu\u00f1oz, UNAB); <em>\u201cImpacts of aquaculture on ecosystems\u201d<\/em> (Principal Investigator Dr. Renato Qui\u00f1ones Bergeret, UdeC); <em>\u201cIncreasing resilience in aquaculture\u201d<\/em> (Principal Investigator Dr. Doris Soto Benavides, UdeC); <em>\u201cSustainable interactions between aquaculture, fisheries, and ecosystems\u201d<\/em> (Principal Investigator Dr. Carlos Molinet Flores, UACh); and <em>\u201cSocioeconomic impacts, governance, and market dynamics\u201d<\/em> (Principal Investigator Dr. Carlos Ch\u00e1vez Rebolledo, UTalca).<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, within the framework of the AQUASUR International Congress, Professor at Andr\u00e9s Bello University (UNAB) and Deputy Director of INCAR\u00b2 will lead the seminar <em>\u201cFrom Knowledge to Sustainability: The Role of INCAR in Salmon Farming\u201d<\/em>, which will take place on Wednesday, March 25, starting at 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the three days of the event, the center will welcome attendees at booth 78 to showcase INCAR\u00b2\u2019s capacities, services, and technologies aimed at transforming science into solutions for the sector.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about the fair program, the congress, and tickets, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aqua-sur.cl\/\">https:\/\/www.aqua-sur.cl\/<\/a>.<!--EndFragment --><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Applied Research Center (CIA), Interdisciplinary Center for Aquaculture Research \u2013 Applied Research, INCAR\u00b2, will be present at AQUASUR 2026, the largest aquaculture fair in the Southern Hemisphere.
