Cinco investigadores de la l\u00ednea Gen\u00f3mica Acu\u00edcola, del Centro Interdisciplinario para la Investigaci\u00f3n Acu\u00edcola, INCAR, se encuentran participando del 4th International Conference on Integrative Salmonid Biology (ICISB 2019), que se realiza en Edimburgo, Escocia.
\nEl Dr. Cristian Gallardo-Esc\u00e1rate, la Dra. Ana Teresa Gon\u00e7alves, la Dra. Valentina Valenzuela-Mu\u00f1oz, el Dr. Gustavo N\u00fa\u00f1ez-Acu\u00f1a y el Dr. Diego Valenzuela-Miranda se encuentran en el Royal College of Surgeons de Edimburgo, Escocia para presentar trabajos en formato p\u00f3ster (1) y oral (4).
\nEl Dr. Valenzuela-Miranda presentar\u00e1 el p\u00f3ster “Genomics for the understanding of the host-pathogen interaction: the case of the Atlantic salmon and Piscirickettsia salmonis\u201d.
\nLa Dra. Valenzuela Mu\u00f1oz, ser\u00e1 la primera del grupo de investigadores INCAR en presentar en el Congreso. Su exposici\u00f3n se llevar\u00e1 a cabo este lunes 18 de noviembre, y lleva por nombre “Beyond the transcriptome modulation during Atlantic salmon smoltification process: role of non-coding RNAs in seawater adaptation”.
\nPosteriormente, el mi\u00e9rcoles 20, se efectuar\u00e1n otras 3 presentaciones de los investigadores del Centro INCAR:
\n– “The dark matter of the salmon genome: non-coding RNAs as key players in the host-parasite interactions”, Dr. Cristian Gallardo-Esc\u00e1rate.
\n– “Environmental Conditions Modulate the Non-Coding Transcriptome Responses in Atlantic Salmon Against Sea Lice Infection: Novel Key Molecular Regulators?”, Dr. Gustavo Nu\u00f1ez-Acu\u00f1a.
\n– “Salmon intestinal nutrimiromics: probiotic yeast regulates the interplay of miRNome, metagenome and transcriptome in the gut increasing homeostasis and health under stress”, Dra. Ana Teresa Gon\u00e7alves.
\nLas reuniones del ICISB son financiadas y organizadas por la Cooperaci\u00f3n Internacional para Secuenciar el Genoma del Salm\u00f3n del Atl\u00e1ntico (ICSASG), un esfuerzo trilateral entre Canad\u00e1, Chile y Noruega.
\nEl tema de ICISB 2019 es “\u2018Beyond the genome: taking leaps forward in salmonid biology” (“M\u00e1s all\u00e1 del genoma: avanzando en la biolog\u00eda de los salm\u00f3nidos”), para reflejar el asombroso progreso en el desarrollo y la explotaci\u00f3n de los recursos gen\u00f3micos, desde que se public\u00f3 el genoma de referencia del salm\u00f3n del Atl\u00e1ntico en 2016.
\nLa reuni\u00f3n ofrece una oportunidad emocionante para que la comunidad cient\u00edfica internacional muestre la amplitud de la investigaci\u00f3n actual relacionada con el genoma en biolog\u00eda de salm\u00f3nidos, que abarca desde preguntas fundamentales en ecolog\u00eda, evoluci\u00f3n y fisiolog\u00eda hasta abordar los desaf\u00edos m\u00e1s acuciantes para la acuicultura y el bienestar.
