My scientific career has focused on the genomics and immunology of aquaculture organisms, mainly on topics such as salmon response to vaccines, host-parasite interactions, and gene regulation in marine vertebrates and invertebrates. I studied my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the University of Havana, and obtained my PhD in Sciences from the University of Havana (UdeC). In 2024, I was awarded a FONDECYT Postdoctoral Fellowship to study the optimal vaccination window in Atlantic salmon. This study is based on the evaluation of transcriptional and epigenetic patterns in fish immunized with commercial vaccines. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at the UdeC Biotechnology Center and part of the INCAR RP1 team.
