Biografía

Dr. María Eugenia Camelio is a Civil Computer Engineer, graduated from Universidad de Concepción, with a MSc. and PhD. in Spatial Information Science and Engineering from University of Maine, USA. Dr. Rodríguez is a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering and Computer Science at Universidad de Concepción. Since September 2019, she has been a member of the expert committee that worked on the development of the National CTCI Policy, convened by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation. She is an associate researcher at the Millennium Institute for Data Foundations. Her areas of interest include information processing systems, particularly spatial and spatio-temporal databases, and spatial information retrieval.

Dr. Mylthon Jiménez-Carrillo Provost for Research, Development and Artistic Creation, Universidad Austral de Chile

Biografía

Dr. Mylthon Jiménez-Carrillo holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Botany from the University of Concepción. He completed his post-doctoral research at the Milenio Forecos Research Center. His expertise lies in Functional Plant Ecology, with a focus on Forest Ecology, Climate Change, and Ecohydrology. Throughout his academic journey, he has undertaken internships at Harvard University and the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute.

Dr. Mylthon Jiménez-Carrillo joined the Faculty of Sciences at the University Austral de Chile, where he currently serves as an associate professor at the Institute of Environmental and Evolutionary Sciences. He has actively participated in various research projects funded by FONDECYT, Corfo, Conaf, and international collaborations, both as a principal investigator and co-investigator. During this period, he has supervised over 20 undergraduate, Master's, and Ph.D. theses, and has held administrative roles such as being a member of the program committee for the Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolution, academic secretary of the School of Sciences, director of the San Martín Forest Experimental Station and Botanical Garden, among other assignments. Additionally, he actively engages in university outreach activities.

Dr. Carolina Torrealba Ruiz-Tagle is a Biologist and Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Universidad Católica de Chile. She has an extensive background in scientific institutions where she has developed public policies in the fields of science, technology, and innovation. Currently, she serves as a member of the Community Women's Council, the Board of the Puerto de Ideas Foundation, and the Innovation Forum Foundation
