The first session of the International Seminar “Diseases of Cultivated Fish in Latin America: Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention,” organized by INCAR was held on October 4th with great success. “We are very pleased with the results of the first day of the seminar, particularly because the experts who accompanied us delivered highly interesting talks, with a comprehensive level of depth. The presentations were conducted in such a way that the attending audience, despite coming from different fields and countries, could understand the issues and solutions discussed in this seminar,” highlighted Dr. Ruben Avendaño-Herrera, Principal Investigator at INCAR and Academic at the Universidad Andrés Bello, who leads the organization of the seminar.
The webinar, which was moderated by INCAR and CIMARQ UNAB researcher Rute Irgang on its first day, featured the participation of various experts. These included Dr. Esteban Soto, academic from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California-Davis, United States; Dr. Cesar Ortega, researcher from the Center for Research and Advanced Studies in Animal Health (CIESA) at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM), Mexico; Dr. Eva Quijano, academic from the University of California-Davis, United States; and Dr. Avendaño-Herrera. The webinar brought together specialists, cultivators, decision-makers, academics, and students from 19 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The event is supported by the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California-Davis, United States, and has AquaHoy and AQUA magazine as media partners. The sessions will be conducted via Zoom, and registration is free.
