On Friday, October 18th, the traditional Doctoral Medal ceremony took place at Universidad de Concepción Theater, Concepción. This ceremony honored the doctoral recipients for the period between September 2022 and August 2023. During the ceremony, the following four researchers who completed their Doctoral programs at the INCAR Center were awarded their medals:
Dr. Antonio Casuso C. received a medal for completing his PhD in Sciences with mention in Renewable Aquatic Resource Management. His research focused on the development of a recombinant vaccine against caligidosis, utilizing a reverse vaccinology approach. Dr. Casuso conducted his research within the “Aquaculture Genomics” field at the INCAR Center.
Dr. Yeny Leal A. received a medal for completing his PhD in Sciences with mention in Renewable Aquatic Resource Management. Her research explored the structural and functional remodeling of the Atlantic salmon’s transcriptomic response to pathogens affecting salmon farming. Dr. Leal conducted her research within the “Aquaculture Genomics” field at the INCAR Center.
Dr. María Lorena González H. received a medal for completing her PhD in Oceanography. Her research delved into the metabolic response of planktonic marine microbial communities to dissolved organic matter from different sources. Dr. Leal conducted her research within the “Environmental Sustainability” field at the INCAR Center.
Dr. María Fernanda Morales R. received a medal for completing her PhD in Sciences with mention in Microbiology. Her research centered around the microbiota in Atlantic salmon, specifically evaluating the role of the microbial community in farmed fish and its relationship with health throughout the production cycle. Dr. Morales conducted her research within the “Aquaculture Genomics” field at the INCAR Center.
