Participants of the “Mar Te Sana” Workshop were educated on the importance of aquaculture

On April 16th, the Interdisciplinary Center for Aquaculture Research (INCAR) led the workshop “Learning Aquaculture” as part of the “Mar Te Sana” Project, promoted by the Natural History Museum of Concepción, the Department of Oceanography at Universidad de Concepción, and four centers of excellence in oceanographic research: COPAS Coastal, Millennium Institute of Oceanography (IMO), Millennium Institute of Coastal Socio-Ecology (SECOS), and INCAR

The initiative was launched in November 2023 and is set to continue until mid-2024, providing direct benefits to the mental health rehabilitation community of Penco-Lirquén Hospital, Club “El amanecer”, which consists of 25 individuals of various ages. “Mar Te Sana” includes 8 sessions during which the centers will collectively introduce the group members to various aspects related to the sea, encompassing knowledge about the sea, field trips, and the development of artistic techniques, thereby contributing to the mental well-being of the individuals within this group.
