The Director of the Interdisciplinary Center for Aquaculture Research (INCAR), Dr. Renato Quiñones, will serve as a panelist in the Ocean Dialogues, a platform for discussions that emphasize the importance of the ocean through an interdisciplinary lens. This event will take place on Sunday, August 25th, at 12:30 PM in the Auditorium of the Medical College of Concepción, as part of the Puerto de Ideas Festival. The discussion, titled “High Seas: How Do We Incorporate It into Our Thinking and Protect It?” will include contributions from Dr. Quiñones, oceanographer Dr. Osvaldo Ulloa, attorney María Blanco, and historian Rodrigo Moreno. As stated by Dr. Quiñones “Puerto de Ideas provides society with access to high-level scientific knowledge, creating a connection between science, history, and art, which aids in embedding scientific understanding within the cultural context of the community, thus contributing to the development of a more informed and engaged society regarding its natural, social, and cultural surroundings.”
