Latin American and Caribbean Aquaculture 2024 (LACQUA 24)

Three Principal Investigators FROM INCAR Center will participate at the Latin American and Caribbean Aquaculture 2024 (LACQUA 24) event in Medellín, Colombia. Dr. Doris Soto, who leads the Integrative Program, will share her insights on “Freshwater aquaculture risks for Brazilian Amazon biodiversity: Challenges and opportunities” on September 25th in the “Sustainable Aquaculture and Ecosystem Conservation I” session. Dr. Jaime Figueroa, focusing on Marine Environment Animal Health, will present “Complete genome analysis of Piscirickettsia salmonis: Evaluation of virulence, antibiotic resistance, and gene organization” on September 26th during the “Microbiology I and Vaccination” session.

Lastly, Dr. Ruben Avendaño-Herrera, Principal Investigator in the Early Stages of Salmonids and Native Resources line, will open the “Microbiology II” session on September 27th, with his presentation titled “Efficacy of an iron-limiting vaccine for Tenacibaculum dicentrarchi in Atlantic salmon, Salmo salar.”
