The X Scientific Conferences of Llico are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 29. This tenth edition of the fair and scientific conferences is titled “Science in Numbers: Discovering Patterns and Creating Solutions for Sustainability,” emphasizing the importance of data collection and field or laboratory research in generating knowledge.
The event will be organized by Filidor Gaete High School in Llico, the Municipal Education Department (DAEM) of Arauco, and the Interdisciplinary Center for Aquaculture Research (INCAR), with participation from 14 institutions and research centers, including COPAS Coastal, CRHIAM, CICAT UdeC, PREGA UdeC, SECOS, IMO, ALGALAB, the Biotechnology Center, the Museum of Zoology from the Faculty of Natural and Oceanographic Sciences at Universidad de Concepción (UdeC), the Department of Oceanography UdeC, and the Department of Astronomy at UdeC. Additionally, this year will feature a public lecture at the Cultural Center of Arauco titled “The Good Use of Data to Save the World and Our Wallets,” presented by Dr. Manuel Estay, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Concepción and researcher in the “Socioeconomic Sustainability” line at INCAR.
The event will commence at 6:00 PM, is free of charge, and suitable for all audiences. The Cultural Center of Arauco is located at Carlos Condell 696, Arauco.
