Summer School: Communication of Sustainability

This year, La Comunidad del Viaje, in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Research (INCAR), is hosting the course titled “Sustainability Communication: A Specialized Course in Scientific Communication.” This program will provide an evening learning experience through workshops scheduled from January 7 to January 17, 2025, at 6:00 PM Chilean time.

The course will cover essential topics aimed at enhancing skills in communication and scientific journalism within the sustainability sector. The summer school will feature both national and international panelists, including Dr. Nélida Pohl (Chile), Biologist and MSc in  Communication; Michelle Soto (Costa Rica), science journalist specializing in environmental issues; Aleida Rueda (Mexico), science journalist and MSc in Journalism; Ana Claudia Nepote (Mexico), MSc science communicator; Maca Concha (Chile), Director of SENSE CONTENTS and Executive Producer of Scientific; Tania Valbuena (Canada/Colombia), science journalist and MSc in Public Health; Carla Christie (Chile), science communicator and MSc in Communication; Macarena Rojas-Ábalos (Chile
), science communicator and Master’s graduate in Journalism; Pablo Carrasco (Chile), Society Engagement Officer at INCAR and MSc in Integrated Management from Chile; and Sergio Villagrán (Chile), science communicator and Director of the El Viaje Community.

Registration will remain open until December 30, with a maximum capacity of 30 participants. The organizing committee has announced the availability of 16 scholarships for the Summer School: 6 for the INCAR Center, 6 for Latin American postgraduate students, and 8 for Latin American professionals in science communication and/or journalism.
