Dr. Rubén Avendaño and Dr. Doris Soto have been listed as leading researchers in the Research.com rankings.

The latest Research.com Ranking features two Principal Investigators from the Interdisciplinary Center for Aquaculture Research (INCAR). Dr. Ruben Avendaño-Herrera, academic at Andrés Bello University and Dr. Doris Soto Benavides, academic at Universidad de Concepción, are recognized in the categories Leading Scientists in Animal and Veterinary Sciences and Leading Scientists in Environmental Sciences in Chile, respectively.

Dr. Avendaño-Herrera, who leads the research line on “Animal Health in Early Stages of Salmonids and Native Resources,” is currently ranked second nationally in the field of Animal and Veterinary Sciences (maintaining the same rank as the previous year) and is ranked 1,698th globally, with 136 publications and 2,685 citations, resulting in a D-27 index. This index is calculated based on the number of publications and citations within the examined discipline.

Meanwhile, in the category of Top Scientists in Environmental Sciences, Dr. Soto ranks 12th (advancing one position from the previous year) and is the highest-ranked woman in this field nationally, as well as 7,806th worldwide, with 79 publications and 11,245 citations, leading to a D-34 index.

The 2025 version of this ranking evaluates the impact and productivity indices of 166,880 researchers from 2,000 universities globally, based on a bibliometric analysis of their publications.
