Dr. Ruben Avendaño-Herrera has been appointed to the Technical Scientific Committee for Aquaculture (CCTA) under SUBPESCA

The Principal Investigator of the Interdisciplinary Center for Aquaculture Research (INCAR) and academic at Andrés Bello University (UNAB), Dr. Ruben Avendaño-Herrera, has been appointed for a second term on the Technical Scientific Committee of Aquaculture (CCTA) under the Undersecretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture (SUBPESCA).

During his first term as part of the committee, Dr. Avendaño-Herrera served as the President of the Committee, and during this new four-year term, and during this new four-year term, he will once again fulfill the role of an advisory and/or consultative body for SUBPESCA on scientific matters pertinent to the management of aquaculture activities in Chile. The CCTA will also include Dr. Phillip Dettleff Faundes, academic from Universidad de Chile, and Dr. Karin Lohrman Sheffield from Universidad Católica del Norte. Additionally, Dr. Sandra Marín Arribas from the Universidad Austral de Chile will be part of the Environmental CCTA. It is important to note that the Scientific Committees are established under the Fisheries and Aquaculture Law, providing advice to the Undersecretary on issues related to health, environmental, and territorial matters.
