Dr. Carlos Chávez participated in the Third United Nations Ocean Conference, UNOC3
Dr. Carlos Chávez, Academic at the Universidad de Talca and Associate Researcher in the Socioeconomic Sustainability line of the Interdisciplinary Center for Aquaculture Research (INCAR), participated in the Third United Nations Ocean Conference, UNOC3, which took place in Nice, France, from June 9th to June 13rd.
On June 12th, Dr. Chávez took part in the session titled “Navigating Sustainability: Global Insights on Aquaculture Performance,” where he presented “Mussels, algae, and scallops—performance comparison in Chile.”
During this session, case studies from various countries (Ghana, Nigeria, Colombia, Vietnam, and Chile) were presented, which considered different aquaculture systems, including tilapia, shrimp, mussels, algae, and scallops, analyzing their environmental, economic, and social performance.
