The Director of the Department of Oceanography at the University of Concepción (UdeC) and Associate Researcher in the Environmental Sustainability line at the INCAR Center, Dr. Marcus Sobarzo, has been elected as the new Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Oceanographic Sciences (FCNO) at Universidad de Concepción (UdeC).
The newly appointed Dean, Dr. Marcus Sobarzo, received his PhD in Oceanography from the Universidad de Concepción (2000) and is a prominent researcher in the area of coastal physical oceanography. His research primarily focuses on upwelling regions, the dynamics of circulation on the continental shelf, and the interactions between rivers and the sea.
