The potential of aquaculture as a relevant opportunity hinges on effective planning and a balanced approach to key developmental factors, such as economic, social, and environmental goals, with a particular focus on enhancing local markets and consumption. In this regard, contributing to the diversification of national aquaculture through the creation of scientific knowledge and the encouragement of social networks and capital is an essential challenge that must be addressed for the progress of the sector.
In this context, the Interdisciplinary Center for Aquaculture Research (INCAR) will host a seminar titled “Oysters in Chile: Opportunities and Challenges for Aquaculture Diversification” on Tuesday, August 6th. The seminar will take place in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Concepción’s campus in Concepción, Chile, featuring speakers who will discuss the development of oyster aquaculture from various national and international perspectives.
The event features six presentations by both national and international speakers, along with a discussion panel that will explore the opportunities and challenges associated with the resources for the aquaculture diversification of our country. The seminar will take place on August 6th at the Prof. Alamiro Robledo H. Auditorium, located within the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at Universidad de Concepción, Concepción.
Registration must be completed via email at centroincar@udec.cl.
