Biography

Dr. Manuel Estay is an academic in the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences at the University of Concepción (UdeC), Chile. His research focuses on studying regulatory alternatives that promote the sustainability of aquaculture based on economic incentives and the social impact of public policies.

Among his recent publications is an article on the social acceptance of emerging energy sources in marine projects, as well as a study on the indirect employment generated by fishing and aquaculture in Chile. He has also explored topics related to environmental policies and biosecurity in the aquaculture industry, proposing models that balance profitability and safety.
