He holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering (Central University of Venezuela, 1994), and a Master of Science from the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE, Costa Rica, 2000). He has worked as a consultant on development, risk, and economic vulnerability to natural disasters. He has worked for the Permanent Mission of Venezuela to the United Nations Organizations in Geneva, the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD), and the United Nations Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UN-ISDR) in Switzerland. He has participated in various studies and directed multidisciplinary projects such as Environmental Impact Studies, Audits, Baseline Studies, Phase I, II, and III Studies for the remediation of areas contaminated by underground hydrocarbons, and EPC Projects, among others. He was Vice President of Engineering and Environment and Vice President of Planning and Control at the Venezuelan consulting firm GEOHIDRA, C.A. He is currently a PhD student in Economics at the University of Talca (Chile).
